Description

“It is a beautiful aggregation, and certainly many of these artists have been interviewed and regularly featured on websites and other free cultural outlets like this one providing depth, context, analysis, information, and exposure. Having a hard copy of this collection of fifty in your hand will help freeze this moment for posterity as the scene/s continue to evolve.” – brooklynstreetart.com on Street Art Today 1

Street Art Today 2 gives an overview of the 50 most relevant artists now. Including the likes of Banksy, JR, Shepard Fairey, Fintan Magee, Guido Van Helten, Felipe Pantone, MadC, Okuda, Aryz, Belin, Faith47, Sheryo & Yok, Case Maclaim, Sainer, Low Bros, Hyuro, Wasted Rita, Pejac, Swoon, Axel Void, etc, alongside interviews with Zoer & Velvet, Icy & Sot, Ellen Rutt, and Milu Correch. Artists who serve as an example of what street art is today and will be tomorrow.

Over the last few years, we see street art festivals rising up around the world, companies hiring artists to paint billboards in the city and city councils attracting artists to gentrify neighborhoods. ‘Featuring a splendid collection of pictures never been seen anywhere else.’

The questions rises: ‘Is street art still street?’. Having escaped the underground scene in many instances, how has it evolved and what is its future? Follow author Bjørn Van Poucke to answer these questions as he talks to prominent artists about the current state of street art.
