We’re not even gonna front by pretending that this new project is at the printers yet. It’s the holidays, and the print shops are closed until early January. We’ll still be tinkering with this thing until it goes to print, no doubt.
We’re launching in the break before y’all get distracted with all that ‘New Year, New Me’ ish, and your nose is firmly back onto the grindstone. Intermission will blast into your letterbox late-January, serving as a reminder to make some space in your life for ‘that shit that make your soul burn slow’.
Call it a zine, magazine, journal, whatever. ‘Intermission – The Space Between’ is a time capsule of a moment in flux, dropping as one calendar sheds its final page, and a fresh calendar year offers new beginnings and 12 leaves of endless possibilities. This is a graffiti publication documenting a transient art form, at a transient time. It’s an exploration of ‘the space between’ – the silence surrounding getting busy that amplifies the thrill of action.
What’s inside? No features, no contents pages! Just a thoughtfully displayed collection of graffiti, photographs, and text. Expect trains, streets, walls, sketches, and those ‘in-between’ moments captured while lurking around. The text? Musings about this graffiti life are interjected throughout.
